A practical restaurant website rebuild checklist

· 4 min read

A restaurant website has a straightforward job: help someone decide whether to visit, find the food they want, and take the next step. An attractive homepage matters, but it is not a substitute for a readable menu or accurate opening hours. Before commissioning a rebuild, check what a customer can actually accomplish on a phone.

Start with the information you already have

Collect your current menu, prices, hours, address, phone number and a handful of photographs that you own or have permission to use. Identify someone at the restaurant who can confirm those details. A website project often slows down because the designer is waiting for approved information—not because the layout is difficult.

For our straightforward restaurant builds, the supplied menu has an agreed limit of 30 items. Agree how categories, prices and descriptions will fit before the work begins. A larger menu, multiple locations, complex modifiers or frequent updates needs a separate scope. Do not assume a low headline price includes unlimited menu entry.

Put the menu in readable text

A scanned menu can be useful as a download, but it should not be the only way to see your food. Images of text can force people to pinch and zoom, do not adapt well to small screens and may be difficult for assistive technology to read. A text-based menu lets headings, descriptions and prices resize naturally.

Keep real dietary or allergen statements accurate. The website designer should not invent ingredient information, awards or customer reviews. If something changes, assign responsibility for updating it. A website menu does not automatically connect to the point-of-sale system.

Use the ordering and reservations you already trust

If you already use an ordering or reservation provider, a straightforward rebuild can link to that service. Confirm the correct destination and any fees you already pay. Building a new ordering engine, taking card payments, managing kitchen tickets or syncing availability is not a service Hyper Solutions offers, including as a custom upgrade.

Links can be labeled clearly: order online, book through your existing provider, or call the restaurant. Test that each one opens the right business, location and service. Avoid a button that promises a booking when it simply leads to a general contact page.

Check hours and directions on a real phone

Place the address, hours and tap-to-call link where a visitor can find them without hunting. Confirm the directions link points to the correct location. Holiday hours, parking instructions and accessibility information can be helpful when supplied and agreed, but they also create an ongoing accuracy responsibility.

Decide how future changes will happen

A menu editor or CMS is not automatically included. A static website can be fast and simple, but someone needs to edit and deploy it when information changes. If staff must update the menu themselves every week, discuss that requirement before choosing the scope or hosting platform. Future changes through Hyper Solutions are quoted separately; no monthly plan is required, though optional monthly updates are available.

Understand the build and hosting separately

Our standard agreed-scope builds cost $499 for up to three straightforward pages or $899 for up to five. Websites still require hosting. You purchase and pay for your domain, hosting and any paid third-party services directly. One-time launch assistance connects the completed work in your own accounts.

A qualified preview is a homepage concept—not the entire website. After concept approval, we agree the scope in writing, collect a 50% deposit and start the three-day production target only after complete approved content, access and compatible hosting are ready. Live launch may take longer because of DNS, approvals or exceptions. The balance is due before launch; source files are handed over after full payment. The written scope and supplied content remain the basis of the project.

Explore our clearly fictional restaurant concept, then request a qualified homepage preview if the approach fits your business.

Hyper Solutions builds informational websites only. Read the fixed $499/$899 scopes, client-paid hosting and ownership terms, or request a qualified homepage concept. No ranking or revenue outcome is guaranteed.
